Hey all - I'm working with a client who has SuiteCommerce installed, but most of the files are locked by the owner of the NS account. Is there an easy way to unlock all of these, or would they have to go through one by one? I noticed the SuiteCommerce bundle was marked as Managed, but I don't know if that would have any bearing on this.
s
This is the nature of SuiteCommerce. The bundle is managed because we (NetSuite) update it automatically when a new version is available.
To make site customisations you are expected to use SMTs, configuration, or backend changes, or add new code via extensions.
I discuss this in https://developers.suitecommerce.com/learn-about-our-best-practices-for-suitecommerce-extensions and in the previous blog post I reference in this one

Thanks @Steve Goldberg, much appreciated!
Hey @Steve Goldberg, I'm trying to download the Extension Developer Tools, but I'm running into an issue with the Activation and was wondering if you could provide some insight. When I run gulp extension:fetch for the first time and enter my credentials/role/domain, it errors out with this message: Sorry. Could not find a valid activation for this combination. I went to the SCA Extension Management and see Activations in there, the most recent one from May. Why would I be seeing this message?
I'm not sure if it's relevant, but this site is built using SCS, not SCA
s
It's checking for activation records; there is a small chance there is a discrepancy between what is shown in the activation manager and what is stored in the site's records
Also, sorry to go over basics, but are you use you've tried to fetch from the right account? This will happen if you select the wrong site
t
No worries, I'm more of a SuiteScript developer than SuiteCommerce, so I am starting from the basics anyhow.
s
In the record types pages, click List next to SC ExtMech Extensions Active
t
That shows a list of 119 extensions
When I try to fetch, it is only showing the one site, but when I go under Activations, the latest activation is for the same Website, but a different domain - a production.na3.netsuitestaging domain, with the Activation before that being for the domain I would expect
s
Check the activation ID for your site; you should see your site as one of the activation ID records
Sorry I'm in a call rn, so I'll have to chat with you later
t
No worries Steve, I appreciate your help
s
OK, have you figured out your issue? I was thinking that you could just re-activate all your site's extensions again
t
I haven't had any success yet. Would doing another activation with the same theme and extensions have any negative impact on the site?
s
I'm not going to 100% guarantee it, but there shouldn't be.
t
Smart man 😂
I'll discuss with the client to see how they feel, and move forward from there. Either way, I really do appreciate your help. From what I've seen, you've always been very helpful to anyone who needs it, so thanks for being a nice person
s
Aww, thanks.
