I have a customer with 56 workflows (roughly 20 are suspended), and 40 scripts (15 are not released) on the Sales Order record. Retrieving / Saving an SO is SUPER slow. They are asking me to look at it. I'm looking at the workflows and most, if not all, are simply setting a fields. I'm thinking to convert all Workflows to a client scripts. I'm pretty sure it will improve performance. Am I right ?

Right. Also you need to consolidate all client scripts into one as well as user event script if possible. It will improve the performance greatly.

@Simon Check if the scripts/wf run on different conditions, roles and events and translate that to your consolidated versions.
