Could you please clarify how long it takes to import a single invoice and/or credit memo? My client is complaining about performance degradation when importing CSV files. They import a large number of transactions (thousands). However, each transaction only consists of 1-3 lines. So currently it takes about 8 seconds to import a single invoice and 17 seconds to import a single credit memo.

That's really slow, especially for documents with that few of lines. Is there a bunch of scripting/workflows running on those document types? Is it all still needed? That could slow it down. You could try a small import with that box unchecked saying "run scripts and workflows on import" to see if that helps the speed. Then if those scripts/workflows are doing something critical, you'd have to manually do that or delete the records and re-import with that box checked. If that fixes the issue, then you'd have to figure out what about the scripts/workflows is slowing it down so much. If that's not the issue, yeah I'd probably complain to NetSuite. I don't know if this is still supposed to be the case, but I thought the stated potential speed on CSV imports was like 6 per second, though I've never come close to getting that. 8 and 17 seconds is way slow though if there are not automations slowing down the record saves.

The client might want to consider a Suite Cloud Plus License. This will give 5 concurrent CSV import queues for one thing. It has significant other performance features. https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/netsuite/ns-online-help/section_N259503.html#subsect_159170819048
when we have implemented this in clients it makes a significant improvement albeit at a cost

Scripts and WFs are not enabled during this import, so thats not the case. Netsuite support doesn't answer if this is a good speed they just provide general recommendations which can be found in SuiteAnswers. I know about SuiteCloudPlus but it's a bit pricey.
