Some of our users (all in a specific subsidiary) have a problem where some Transaction Line Fields that source from the Item on the same line, are not sourcing the field values. It works fine for me when I add the same item to the same transaction, using the same Role and (I'm guessing but not sure) the same browser. Not sure what device they're using though. Why does it work for me using the same Role, but it doesn't work for them? Having trouble reproducing the problem. Is there a well-known issue where this happens, and what usually is the cause?

Don't recall ever seeing this happen natively, so my first thought would be that there's some script or workflow sometimes interfering with it. Did you look at scripted records to see what's running on whatever transaction(s) this is occurring on?
a
Yeah, but I didn't find anything that affects those fields except two inactivated scripts I made before realizing belatedly that I could just use sourcing to get the same effect the scripts were doing.

Is it a restriction at employee/employee record/group level that means you're able but they aren't?

Actually, after digging into this further, I found that the user was trying to do two different things: 1. Test whether they could access the other-subsidiary items at all, by looking them up in the Global Search bar. This, they can do, and so can I. 2. Add Items to a Transaction from a subsidiary outside of the one the Transaction is on. This, nobody can do, neither I nor them. Is there a way to make it so Items from a given subsidiary can be added to a Transaction that's outside of the subsidiary hierarchy of that item?

I'm pretty sure not. Beyond adding the "new" subsidiary as an option on the item record obviously.

We use "cross subsidiary fulfilment/global inventory relationship" which allows one sub to add an item to an SO/IN that isn't in their stock or a location they own. However I think the item still needs to have the Sub added to it to be able to select it. I don't know if it can be modified/if it would help? Out of interest why is a Sub that isn't added to the item adding it? Surely if you're happy for them to access/add it then it could be opened up to that sub too?
