Has anyone seen a field in the saved search dropdown yield different results in employee center when put in a formula field versus just the field dropdown? I am running a calculated field on the transaction record using a saved search result (Ran unrestricted). Part of the formula uses Billing Transaction : Amount (Foreign). Additional testing reveals that in a regular role, that field returns the same result as Formula (Currency) with {billingtransaction.fxamount}. However, in the Employee Center role, putting that value in a formula field returns a different amount than just adding it through the field selector. This is causing users in Employee Center to see an incorrect value. Any ideas?

Most likely either the Employee Center role or the actual employee viewing the field does not have permissions to see all of the transactions on which you are expecting the field to calculate a value.

They do have the ability to see the billing transactions, but POs are natively restricted by the Employee field. The search is set to Run Unrestricted to solve this, and does display the PO information correctly. I've just never seen a field display different results when selected in the dropdown versus in a formula field.

why are you using foreign? It could be subsidiary based currency issue - this is contextual based on the employee / subsidiary combo. Maybe even the employee's default currency

All of our subsidiaries are based in USD. The same issue happens with Billing Transaction : Amount. We just used fx to account for bills in other currencies.

probably due to the currency exchange rate calculation. Check if its showing USD to USD 1 or not
