Just got one that said "I have a netsuite job are you interested or if not do you know anyone". I wrote back that as a senior level recruiters, this is lazy at best, you've told me nothing about the company, job or anything. Why would anyone be interested? They wrote back that it was a connect message and TRIED AGAIN to get me to talk to them about it. Like holy crap. If there are any recruiters that read this, please just tell the job, company and salary range and you're gonna get way more hits and people interested IMO.

your assumption may be wrong on "a senior level" - I doubt a senior level head hunter would be that incompetent.
c
It said senior in his title so I went w/ it
I'm just annoyed w/ it at this point. Like highly annoyed. How is it that difficult to give me info in an email vs having me talk to you and THEN getting the info? Its the same thing but one of them requires a phone call that isn't even needed.
I literally just got another one:
Like how lazy are these dudes

"Senior" is a goofy term is recruiting. Seems like they promote really fast.

"Your background is very impressive and I think you would be a good fit for [insert random completely unrelated field]"

They didn't even tell me my background was impressive 😞

I've got one that is messaging me like every 5 days. "I'm really interested in your background"

I don't know why people post crap to reddit/jobs channel without salary bands.
I kind of want to just be blunt whenever I see that happen, but I don't really want my name associated with it haha
Especially because this is such a high demand career

Thats how I am these days. I ask for a salary range and company and if they give neither I am not interested. You gotta make time on their "calendar" link yourself and then they call you just to tell you the info they could've given in the initial intro.
I even respond to ones that have all of the info thanking them for actually giving the information.
s
I like to send them here to the #C29J6STC6 channel. where they can see what works, and what doesn’t.
s
Not gonna shock you, but its probably dem millennials as headhunters working like they they're using tinder 🤷‍♂️
k
Just got a cold call on my personal cell from a recruiter, that's a new one for me.
s
How the heck did they get your number ?
k
That's a good question.
Apparently my phone number is searchable somewhere.
I had a partner pull it up for me while we were debating how to get the client to get on a call with us. I was a bit skeeved out
s
Most probably from some archived resume bank, I do get phone calls sometimes from headhunting companies which I have worked with in the past.
s
A personal cell sounds like a past CV, a recruitement website profile, a email footer
k
Oh, it's out there on some kind of marketing research site where they pulled it up
This recruiting company I get about 2 messages a week from and just leave them on read.
s
May be Anderson Frank is selling their list now a days
k
But they must be a fair bit desperate to resort to reaching out to me via phone haha
s
dunno, in apac, phone is a bit of spam, mixed with other spam, usually i dont mind a whatsapp connect
but feels like they just "cast a wider net" then the old head hunters who aim the exact guys for the exact jobs
