One of our custom Roles has the Employee Access > Employee Public permission, which the NetSuite Help documentation says should be able to view the Supervisor field on Employee records. However, when using this role, the Supervisor field either does not appear or comes up empty in saved searches, as if it is not accessible. How do I fix this role so it can see the joined Employee : Supervisor or the joined Sales Rep : Supervisor field on a saved Expense search?

AI generated answer (using internal Slack threads):
Based on the conversations, it seems like the issue you're facing is related to the permissions and hierarchy settings in NetSuite. The Supervisor field might not be appearing due to the hierarchy settings of the employees. NetSuite does not allow an employee to be set as a supervisor if they are lower in the 'org chart' tree than the employee they are supposed to supervise. To fix this, you might need to adjust the hierarchy settings of your employees. Make sure that the supervisor you're trying to assign is not lower in the hierarchy than the employee they are supposed to supervise. In terms of permissions, you might need to check the "Do Not Restrict Employee Fields" checkbox on the user's Role. This could potentially solve the issue of the Supervisor field not appearing. However, be cautious with this setting as it might give the user access to other fields they shouldn't have access to. If the issue persists, you might need to look into the Advanced Employee Permissions feature. This feature might affect the visibility of the Supervisor field. Remember, when setting up permissions and hierarchies, always make sure they align with your organization's policies and procedures. ****** Disclaimer: This response was generated by an artificial intelligence assistant based on previous conversations from multiple Slack channels, and may contain inaccuracies or mistakes. ******

I did not ask about setting an employee as supervisor. I specifically asked about making the Supervisor field visible to the employee with that role.

the agent isn't programmed to answer follow-up questions in the thread. But you can ask it again in the main channel

I know, I just left that follow-up in case it takes it as feedback
I'm not sure how it works, but just in case it helps the AI understand what went wrong.

Got it!
