Without SuiteBilling - is there a way to automate the process for increasing the price of a line on a sales order and having the new price reflect on the billing schedule?
k
no and no. Before SB there used to be Contract Renewal module that did it. Short of it you need a script or a wf/script for that
c
We're using that module now
and it's very limited
I'm having to write scripts to make it more flexible
That contract renewal bundle doesn't bad things like forces you to have a new SO for an uplift
which means a separate invoice
Customers hate separate invoices
k
oh, yes, I know, I was never a fan. But the billing piece is non-existent
c
and grouped invoicing is a poor solution
k
well, group invoices is better than multiple invoices..
Just plunge and buy SB?
c
These guys don't want to purchase SuiteBilling so I need to write some scripts to fill in the gaps with the billing schedules and contract renewal bundle.
k
eh, ok... good luck!
c
They feel like it will be too expensive and complex
I'm not 100% sure a SuiteScript solution will be cheaper or less complex 😄

I would always go with the native. That is SB will be updated, etc. and scripts will not keep up. They have to understand it.
c
I think cost will be the issue
cost plus implementation time
and the need talking around from the bad reviews they've heard from a crappy reference
I actually have no idea of the cost. I had one client using Zone Billing and that cost 6-figures/year
and those 6-figures did not start with a 1
k
implementation is not big deal, data migration is the key there, it must be done just so in the certain order, but then you always have Sandbox to test it all...
Do not know the cost but many many clients moved to SB and happier
c
Having to purchase a SuiteApp, and from the vendor themselves, to get billing to work is a sore point with these guys.
I don't think the O2C team were involved in the initial purchasing decision of NetSuite 🙂
Are you an SB user?
k
yes, but mostly ARM
