mizpah: We encountered a serious defect where after we created the commerce category, items would start to disappear and the category was totally frozen in the SMT. We had to install a patch to fix this, but have found ourselves completely rebuilding the commerce categories every few days - the patch didn’t seem to work. Hopefully this will be fixed over the next few weeks.
the scripted solution your provider could help with is parsing a csv file of items and their assigned categories you provide them into the commerce categories.
