This might be related to Avalara if you're using them. They're having issues.

@eblackey we do use Avalara, but where did you see they had issues? Seems as though our users didn't report it until 12:15 PM, but APM reports show it started at 10:45. It was resolved shortly after the user finally reported it, but stated it had been occurring for hours.

Avalara never reported they had any issues. Our team just knew what to look for because this has happened a few times before and the symptoms are similar - slow sales order processing.
