I'm getting a 404 on a landing page: http://designtradeservice.com/luann . I'm not sure if it's b/c of the non-HTTPS or what. Occasionally, the link will work. I have no idea what's going on. Is this a known issue?

Put the www in front of it. I've had the same issue with multiple sites. At the end of the day, I think it was a domain configuration think on the host side.
c
By host, you mean the dns host and not NetSuite?
j
Oops. Sorry. Domain registrar.

We dealt with the issue for years and it was finally fixed. Unfortunately, I don't remember what the fix was, but it was some configuration on the registrar side of things. I think our registrar at the time was GoDaddy, which didn't support it, but then we migrated things to Cloudflare and were able to make it work over there. (Sorry to be so vague. I wasn't the one who did any of the actual work. I was just the one that everyone was always complaining to about it so when it finally got fixed, I did my best to forget it forever...)

Both GoDaddy and Cloudflare (and other registrars) support root to www forwarding
c
Using Godaddy's domain forwarding often fails to redirect URL's with routes or paths. Has anyone had to fix this?
j
That's the issue that we ran into. Although the root domain worked, subdirectories would continue to fail. We went back and forth with NetSuite and GoDaddy and kind of came to a stalemate. I was able to look back through my emails and found that we needed to find a DNS provider that supports CNAME flattening because GoDaddy didn't. For us, that was Cloudflare, but other hosts should be able to as well.

Ugh. What a fun Tuesday. 😂
Thanks for the breakdown!

Haha. Yeah. I wish my solution wasn't, "Yeah, just change your DNS provider. How hard could that be?", but after dealing with it for years, that's what finally fixed it for us.
