For SCA, is it possible to prevent users from viewing items (i.e. search, navigation) until the user has logged in? If possible, we'd like the site to be more controlled and disallow unregistered customers from viewing item details until allowed to do so.

I think that there’s not a configuration out of the box to manage some sections or make them login protected, you can make the whole website login protected, but not for sections. But maybe you can get that behavior for the items utilizing Personalized Catalog Views
t
Making the site login protected may work. I assume that's the Password-Protect Entire Site option on the site setup page on the Shopping tab.

Yes, is that one

Thanks

This is possible with personalized catalog views
PCV comes with three native groups (anonymous users, recognized, and logged-in) and so you can just set up a group of products so that they are only visible to the logged-in group
All the others remain visible to everyone

I'm setting up PCV in our sandbox and have created customer and item segments. I'm getting the following warning on the Customer Segments Manager page: "The Personalized Catalog Views feature is not available for the following sites _[site name]_: Site type could not be determined." Any ideas?
f
which SCA version are you in?
you have to be on SCA 19.2 or later
t
2020.2
f
ah you should be good then
t
Yeah, I noticed that caveat while reading about PCV
f
so do you have other web sites in NS?
maybe it´s referring to a SiteBuilder one?
t
We have one SB, one SC and two SCA.
the one it's referring to is SCA
f
mmmm ok
and you have the feature enabled right?
t
yes
it wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that it's in sandbox, would it?
f
it shouldn’t
let me check the DB to see what you sandbox retrieves as site type
what is you customer account?
