i've managed to deploy client-side scripts to it before @Miquel Brazil so that is one way, but beyond that i'm not sure you can do anything with standard NS form functionality

Do you mean User Event scripts? I'm pretty sure you can't get client scripts on the form - I had to resort to adding an inline html field with javascript to run client side
