I have a List/Record field of type Employee, and it only shows a handful of options despite us having over 100 active employees. Stanley AI cannot conceive of any other reason than the 1,000 limit on employee dropdowns (NetSuite defect) but I don't see how that has anything to do with this situation. It looks more like a permissions or organization/subordinates issue to me, and I just don't know yet which permissions to set to what. The custom Employee list/record field has no filters, sourcing, or access restrictions on the field configuration. I think I might need to check the "Do Not Restrict Employee Fields" checkbox on the user's Role, but I also want to know why the role can see the Employee records that it CAN see. Or I could use the Employee Access subtab in the Role and set things more granularly. I'm not sure the exact settings I need or if NetSuite can do it, but I'll see if I can find out. The strange thing is that "Active and Non-Terminated" is the restriction type for this user's Role, but they are not able to see all the active and non-terminated employees in an Employee-type List/Record dropdown. Why is that?

I would look to see if the employees that they can see have something in common….subsidiary, department, class? Yes… you could unrestrict the employee fields. Have you also made sure that they have the list permission for employees?

I tried the Unrestrict employee fields checkbox, and it worked very well, even if the Role didn't have the List : Employees permission. I'm still hesitant to keep it unchecked though, because I don't know how to find out whether it gave them access to something else they shouldn't have access to. I could trial-and-error some things, but there's probably a few things I wouldn't think of.

Thank you, @Michael McNamara, but I can't change that field on the Employee record, even with my Administrator (ID 3) role. It was good to learn about that field and the checkboxes that further define it, though. However, when I said "restrictions", I was talking about this "Employee Access" subtab on the Role, and I wonder if it supersedes the Employee Restriction field you pointed me to. I'll see if I can find documentation for Employee Access thing. Note - Advanced Employee Permissions feature is turned on. I'm looking into how that affects things:
