does anyone know what "integration units" actually measure in the billing information

Integration Units in NetSuite's billing represent the number of data records processed during integrations with external systems or third-party applications. These units are counted when data is transferred in or out of NetSuite through integration points like web services, RESTlets, or SuiteScript integrations. The billing is based on your total Integration Units consumption within your billing period, with different pricing tiers depending on your NetSuite subscription level. Important notes: • Each record processed = 1 Integration Unit • Real-time and scheduled integrations both count • Units reset at the start of each billing period • Can monitor usage in Setup > Company > Company Information > Usage Important to consider in your larger approach.
