Random not totally performance related thing (more of a defect) has anyone seen typing a formula into a cell not doing the math? I went to show it to a client today and looked like I had made up that you could do it.

Where are you typing a formula into a cell? In a sublist?

Must be some bug. I just tried it and it worked for me. @ericbirdsall he's talking about how you can type basic math functions into an amount field and it will do it for you. ie if you type 2+2 into an amount field and tab out, it will be 4.

Interesting, I just tried this on a Work Order and it did not work... I tried to update the Quantity column on the Components sublist to 2+2 and it just updated it to 2

Maybe it doesn't work on every transaction then? I was thinking it might only work on dollar amount fields. But maybe it only works on JEs. It's a nice little thing to have and demo, but in practice I've never seen anyone use it regularly.

I hit one of the odd use cases where someone's doing something stupid on an estimate, and rather than script it, would be easier for them to do it using that function
