I just want to be able to lock the files.

I just want to be able to lock the files.
k
You can lock files within a suite app. Use the locking and hiding files
m
Is there a problem in using the
com.netsuite
publisher ID? 😃
k
It's not yours? 😂
m
No
k
Honestly have no idea but you'll never get it approved to show in the marketplace 😂
m
Yeah, I don't want to publish it. I just wanted to know if it would be a problem if NS know about it somehow. Maybe while they are fixing something in a support ticket.
e
Ya, I'd highly suggest not using NetSuite domain. Why not use your own?
m
It is not just a domain, it is a publisher ID, you have to registered in the NS Network.
k
You can put any publisherid if you are manually deploying from webstorm. You don't have to be registered.
I do it all the time 😂
m
Yes, any publisherid, not any domain, still we need to know if it is a problem using one that doesn't belong to you or not.
e
So, your SuiteApp isn't published is it
m
No, we don't want to publish it, we just want to use the features of SuiteApps. Like locking files.
k
Just make one up 😂
com.Idontcare.appnotpublished
m
It is kind of boring really, they force you to choose, I have no idea why. Why not add the same features to SuiteApps and Customization Projects?
d
I've tried a made-up publisher ID in the past and it didn't work. I believe you have to have one through the SDN program.
k
Hmmm I'll have to check as haven't done it for a while. One I'm using now is for the company I work for.

If you need to lock files that you publish for your sdf package you need
locking.xml
https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/netsuite/ns-online-help/section_1543865613.html
m
I want to lock the files in a customization project not an app.
j
We only use account customization packages, but we’ve not yet locked any of our code. I was going to assume that the type of sdf package didn’t matter (as the schema of them almost identical). If adding this locking file doesn’t work for us, then I’m submitting a support ticket.
k
It won't. Only suiteapp is able to lock files.

I assume that another dependency would be that your sdf package has to be listed in the ‘app store’ as well (in order to use sute apps)?
k
Nope
I have suiteapps that I install into accounts with SDF. Same as you deploy a account customisation project
j
thanks, that’s good info. As long as i can put the package under source control and automate deployment with the CLI, i don’t care if the files are locked or not. That saves me a trip to the netsuite support page, thanks.

Another benefit with installing it as a suiteapp through webstorm/cli is that you can then uninstall it in the UI.
