We have assemblies with standard costing method. The components are inventory items. Some of which use Average costing method while others use Standard. When I run the Planned Standard Cost Rollup and Revalue Inventory Cost afterwards, the components with Average costing method are assigned with 0 cost. When used in the transactions such as Assembly Build, the production price variance is always just equal to the cost of the components with Average Costing method because they didn't have standard cost. This doesn't sound right to me. I was hoping I can assign a standard cost in the Assembly and that will be compared to the total cost of the components (average plus standard) to get the production price variance. But, I can only define a standard cost for an assembly item when the Supply Type selected is Purchase and not Build.
