is anyone using the JE Basic Workflow? is it expected behavior that anyone can still approve JEs using the "Approve Journal Entries" page

add criteria for the approval and reject button to disallow the creator. On the other hand use a workflow field to set the creator the use that field value to exclude the the creator from seeing the approval button. There are other options to exclude creator from approve their own JE

but they seem to be able to approve it anyway on the main Approve Journal Entries screen right

if you use custom JE approval workflow (use the out of the box one as template) you can prevent user from approving their own JE's even from the bulk approval UI. Hit me up (DM) I can show you how to do it.

@automation_nation10 the 'Approve Journal Entries' page should follow the criteria set in your workflow. IE: if you are not letting the creator see the approve button, they wouldn't have the option to approve there either.

I thought the approval routing setting was for approval rules?
