_True Story from Yesterday_: User: I can't log in. Every time I put in the Authenticator code it just goes back to wanting it again. Holiday Season Destroyed Admin: That's weird. I don't see any issues from NS and the Slack channel isn't reporting anything. User: I need to get in. I've got to fix some orders. HSDA: You're using the right code, right? Not accidentally using another site's? User: No. What's going on? HSDA: I don't know. Are you SURE you're using the right code? User: Of course. When got the new phone this weekend, I transferred the app over completely and all the site codes are here. HSDA: ... User: ... User: What was that thump? It sounded like something hit your desk. HSDA: One sec please. I need some ice for my forehead.

hang on, you can transfer over authenticator codes though, I’ve done that before.

I know. But whatever they brought over didn't sync up correctly. The coda to the story is that just resetting the 2FA and having them scan/connect worked perfectly. I think the thing that prompted me was that this (very abbreviated above) conversation took a lot longer with them insisting that nothing had changed. There was that one key piece of evidence though... Semi-related, I've found that my Authenticator is a bit squirrely recently too - seems the time sync doesn't match up to my PC some of the time. But yes, in a normal world, transfers have worked before.

I have done that quite a few time. Still resetting is the easiest

@Mark C I have had the same issue with my authenticator as well recently - sometimes the first code I see works as intended, and other times I need to wait for the code to regenerate.
