Yes they do, but from what I can tell these fields are meant to show the total of all locations, but they never show up

No, they are meant for location level only. A bit strangely put on the form, but that is how it is supposed to work.

Agreed, they'll show per location. Not accumulative.

So are you sayiing that if you don't have Multi-location enabled then the quantities show in these "header" fields.  But once you enable multi-location they go away?

They should show up a line field on the location? Can you show a screenshot of what your'e talking about?

Yes all the quantities do show up on the line level for each location

I guess i'm just wondering why there are fields marked as "Show" on the custom form, but they never actually Show when you view the item

Do you have advanced item location configuration turned on?

you should have one field on the header called "total value". total quantity on hand is available through saved search.
