I had a situation where I was running a sub shop. Owners hired new manager with years of experience, supposedly. My girlfriend (wife now) that I was almost fired for dating, had some issue with another employee. Honestly I'm not really sure what happened or how, but this manager thought it was best to get them in the room together and tell them in no uncertain terms to stop fighting over me. Which makes no sense in hindsight because I don't ever recall the other girl expressing any sort of interest in me prior to this. Also it's not like I was some kind of prize. I was running a sub shop. Below average looking. Still can't figure out why the manager thought that was what was going on, but apparently she was right. Or at least she put the idea in the girls head as a way to antagonize Amanda because suddenly she was now noticing all these times this girl was flirting with me and was irritated. She wound up quitting over it just to reduce the stress.
