@dynamicl time to build an arcade
d
I did, but kinda cheated :) ...
c
Did you see the new Pro arcade1ups they released yesterday? (news not actually released)
I tried to find one of these street fighter cabs when walmart dropped them to $50 but they sold out so fast
d
Only really bought it for the cab tbh, ripped out the pcb, added a PC in the back running bigbox, butchered my x-arcade for the sanwa bits and the controller. Job done!
c
nice I do like the sanwa sticks
I run a pi or Retro Arcade 2. I paid those guys like $100 to join their torrent site so I can get it from the soruce.
Here's mine
d
I messed around with the pi's for a few years, but a PC just does things easier and better.
Proper cab 🙂
c
Its a Microcenter cab w/ custom graphics and hardware
its roughly the same cost as an arcade1up just more work
d
Back of my cab, this was done within 24 hours of buying the arcade1up ..
Thats just an old i3 I had lying around
c
Nice have you seen Retro Arcade 2?
it should run fine on that i3
d
link?
These were the bits I swapped over too, made life a lot easier and didnt really use the x-arcade

d
Thanks, will check it out
c
what I like is the cabinet art and the screen effects like scan lines
d
Those 1up pinball units look pretty good too
Would love a real one, but they are super expensive and a nightmare to maintain I believe
c
I want one of the virtual pinball machines that this company makes:

about 10-15k shipped
but look at the quality
d
very cool

Everybody’s hyped about your arcade cabinet, but I wanna know what kind of fish you've got in the tank next to it? Looks nice and clean.
Marble angelfish maybe?
d
🙂 Well to keep a long story short, we upgraded the main tank to a 120L and this 40L one ended up in my office with a couple of angel fish that were not getting along with the others.
j
Sounds like my house. I've got plenty of fish that have had to go into their own “timeout” tanks.
d
These 2 were getting bullied by the larger angel fish, not sure if these are females?

The boss of the tank is a loach in that log, his head just sticks out one end and the tail the other.
j
I’ve never kept angels, but I’ve heard they can get pretty aggressive if they’re spawning. I’ve thought about trying to breed some myself just for fun, but it sounds like too much of a headache.
d
The 2 in the large tank started to be aggressive with the yellow one in the small tank, to the point where she(?) just stayed in a corner all the time. If she came out of the corner, they would both charge at her. We have put her in the smaller tank with a younger angelfish.
What do you keep?
j
@dynamicl Lots of livebearers and tetras. Rainbows, a few corys here and there. I also have a large Central American cichlid that I’m fostering who’s a murderous little death machine that will kill anything that I put into his tank. My latest project is breeding Boesemani rainbow fish and black rams.
