It really really depends on the client, the urgency and what it is for. It's also a balance. I am not of a fan of the "do it now and fix it later" mentality because it tends to take longer in the long run and you don't always get time to update it later.

I feel like maintaining a project doesn't teach me any useful skills.

It really doesn't. Some projects end up where you are fixing someone else's while all new dev work seems to be easier.

I wish I would have the self control. Waiting every week is painful.

I never watch shows with commercials or week long waits. Things are even worse these days where a season can take a break mid season for several months. NetFlix and other streaming services have changed the experience and I'm never going back.

Life without Keene is good. But Dembe became an FBI agent and its totally out of character.
