Is there any way to load in a a non-financial metric into netsuite? and if so what would this be called so I can dig into?
For example I'd like to load in a number each month (number of downloads) - that I can then do some reporting on (revenue/number of downloads). Is this something that's possible within netsuite?

Creating a custom record that links to the item(?) in one of the fields (List/Record) and populating other fields with the data you want to track would work. Joining to revenue (transactions) is a double join, so you'd need to use datasets/workbooks/query to connect since saved searches can only single hop on joins.

ooohh. This sounds annoying but definitely would work. Thank you!

Is the download against billing? does the download pertain to a lead? Just trying to figure out why the non-financial metric is important to get a better idea of your goals

we are a fintech app so I'm trying to see how user acquisition drives revenue and the related processing costs (think plaid/merchant fees). We are currently doing this in excel but if I could load in the # of acquired users each week - I could do all the analysis I needed within netsuite and have it automated.
Was really hoping to just get a row on on the P&L where it will pull it in a # for each period and then use formula rows to build out some metrics based on a few GLs. Seems keeping it in Excel is easiest route.

I'd look at Statistical Accounts if you have that feature available. It will do exactly what you're looking for I think. You can add those to the P&L.
If you don't already have it available, it's in the Advanced Financials add-on.
