Looking for some advice from a company who uses both Advanced Manufacturing and SuitePeople. There is a major confidential information breach. Do you know about the accessibility of this report? NS support is unable to help and says I need to request an enhancement. Wondering if someone can tell me if their users also have access to this report?
e
Need more context. What sort of report and to what individuals do you not want it shared with?
j
Its a native report that I DO NOT want shared but if a role has the Employees permission, which they need for the Mobile Tablet in AM, this grants them access to this report under Reports - Emloyees/HR- Employee Change History. No Advanced Employee Permissions work either to block this report from showing up when granted the Employees Permission
e
Do employee's need access to any other reports? (Trying to understand if you can just revoke the reports permission for those employees)
j
Interesting... I like that idea. I will test that. Thank yoiu'!
Where would I restrict this on the role? They will need to see sales order reports, purchase order reports etc. But do not want them to see any HR/Employee related reports.
I do have the Hide Employee Inform...on Financial Reports permission in place but apparently this doesn't override the Employee Change History report.
@Enigma do you have any other ideas?
e
Thinking through the options here
Is the issue that your report has employee Salary information in the change history report?
j
Yes
e
Do the employee's that can see this file need the ability to edit reports?
j
We are still working on implementation so I cannot say for 100% sure that they will not need it. But I would be willing to take that away at this point and if a report needs to be edited they can reach out to someone else for now to edit it.

In my instance, employee salary is not populated on the report, leading me to believe you can customized the default report to remove it and save the report. Once you've done this, that information won't be visible. From there you should be able to limit the role and it's ability to edit reports. That may be one way to go about it. Ideally I'd start with creating a whole new blank role and defining the roles and permission there. It's going to be a troubleshooting processes to see what's needed and not needed, but starting at ground zero and creating a whole new role is often the best way to go. Keep in mind that you'll also need to create a whole new center to customize the menus, drop down options, etc. This sounds a little more complicated than it actually is, but I'd start with creating the custom center and then creating the role to match to the center.

How can you customize a default report? When I customize it simply creates a new version but the original(Native) report stays in tact and still visible.
