Curiuosity question - we have a number of subsidiaries that have been inactivated. Currently accounting is doing some clean up activity and are looking to post an entry to one of these inactive subs. As expected when unchecking inactive throws error: Adding a Subsidiary would exceed the number of licenses you have purchased. Please contact NetSuite for additional licenses. The curiosity part is this: can I set say one of the Subsidiaries that is set up for Purchase Price Accounting to inactive / activate this in active sub - book the entry and then flip back? Or will this create some tremendous travesty?

check your contract, but you should be fine. As long as this subsidiary is in the same country and currency as one of your active ones, there shouldn't be an additional charge. Just speak to your account rep and they can grant you an extra sub licence
