bought 6s for A$988 in 2016 and still using it - can be sold for A$350 easily. so roughly i'm paying <A$1 per day. almost every Galaxy or Pixel would be >=40% off straight away next year (e.g. S8 is now ~A$600 which is ~40% off since Apr 2017 it release) and even worse when selling it for update. so I think I'm paying more if I buy Galaxy or Pixel

if I want to keep my phone updated at a reasonable frequency
