if you need /want to compile, you'll need java jdk 1.8 (you can have multiple JDKS installed it does no harm) and then create the plugin project and point to the 1.0 JDK and include the dependencies like the readme says on the main page and then compile.. just make sure it uses 1.8 or it won't work
