Client using ABSI to connect to their bank via SFTP - does anyone know where to find the actual connection logs? It's quite obviously not connecting, but the help documentation doesn't say where to see why it's not connecting.

I doubt any log exists, I have asked NS support few months ago - they turned the query into an enhancement request. Also the statement files downloaded are not stored so another enhancement request. Only thing I could find was "*SFTP Connectivity File Import*"

Lovely. Bank is asking me for my error message and I can't find one! Almost wondering if I'm missing a step
Look for the logs for sftp_connector.js

This is the only script with SFTP in the account:
Appreciate the attempt there Sam - I think the help article you sent was for the standard SFTP connector and not ABSI
its strange that I'm not seeing more scripts related to the ABSI install - in multiple accounts that have it.
Well I found the error page - Transactions -> Banking -> Banking Import History The error message is insanely helpful though:

@KevinJ of Kansas curious - is there a reason they’re using ABSI instead of other bank feeds solutions that are available?
s
Other bank feeds are facilitated by Yodlee or SaltEdge which are basically screen scraping technology - it logs into the bank portal then records the screen and extract data for the feed. Which is quite an error prone process. Parsing BAI 2 or MT490 or even txt files provided by the bank is more effective.
@KevinJ of Kansas try creating an SFTP in bound or outbound connection records in SFTP module. Once saved in edit mode it allows you to test the connection. This can be a work around
I usually test this way and attempt uploading or downloading files before set it up in ABSI

This one has some intense security concerns and isn't willing to give up 2 factor authentication for direct bank transaction visibility.

the other - the bank can't figure out how to give them a login that doesn't require 2 factor authentication - haven't found the magic words

Use public private key based authentication best secure option
No user is used

Right.

@KevinJ of Kansas Thanks for the info! Always interested to know client’s reasons as solution provider. In case you’re not able to get it figured out or if you have other clients in a similar situation, FISPAN has partnered with many US banks to provide direct API/SFTP bank feeds. We work with the bank to build the connection so you don’t have to deal with these kinds of issues. Feel free to send me a dm for more info! 😀

Fispan is a great product from my home town, in 2018 I went to their office a few times and adviced on how NetSuite bank payment module works and the record structure. Remember Lisa Shield and @fkrauthan of Fispan. Eventually used it as JPMorgan Treasury integration in 2021. Excellent product complete solution.
