Hi Guys,
I have a PDF file which is available to view. Its file record is locked (shows lock icon).
It was created by previous employee who is not with us. How can i change the lock to make the edit in File record ?

You have to get access to the original locked file somehow. There's no way to just unlock a file yourself. It'll be a call to NetSuite support to see if they can help you out. Same thing if I can give you a bundle with locked files you can't just go in and unlock them to see them. Since you own this file though, it may be possible they can unlock it.

But this is file created by the user, not from any bundle. Also the file record is marked as “Available without login” .
I want to change it to false. This is a PDF file and it has sensitive info publicly exposed

If you're the administrator you might be able to change the owner. I second Creece, NetSuite support will have to fix it if you don't have permission to change the owner yourself.

Another option you might consider is changing the email and password of that previous user, and log in as if you were them. Perform the change and switch ownership while logged into their account.

I second Tim's idea as the best one. I've done it before and it works.

Yes! I think that will work. I will try and update here on Monday.
Thank you very much everyone. Have nice weekend !!
