Do you know if netsuite will provide us with trial/test environment for WIP module? we need to verify if the module works for our specific needs and I don't want to subscribe to it before testing?

I don't think they'll give you one of those without paying for it. If you are working with a NetSuite Partner they have dev instances where they may be able to give access to in order to run some tests.
