Hello, is anybody else experiencing issues with reports / saved searches being dumped to 'XLS'?
This week any XLS file dumped from NS doesn't open properly in Excel for Windows or refuses to open at all. Column data formats also cannot be changed.
A workaround seems to be uploading to OneDrive, downloading again, and saving to XLSX but this is a pain.

saved searches exported to "Excel" have always come out in .xls format (at least since 2013) and typically throw an excel error about whether you trust the source. If you click yes through this prompt you can open it in Excel and work with it without issues. If you click No at this prompt it will not open the file as you describe or open it in Protected View (which locks up the file similar to what you are describing)

If you have other excel windows open the prompt often will pop up on one of those (I think it's the last active sheet, but not sure of the exact logic of how that works)

Well aware of the hoops you need to jump through to get them working which has worked up until this week. Clicking yes through the prompt is not working for some users, and for the ones it is working for they can't format the data as they wish.
I'm getting Qs from the IT Support team whether it's a NS issue outputting the files (they're also looking at whether it's a specific version of Excel they push out from 365)

It's working fine for me so I guess it's an Excel issue (although, yes, this is something NetSuite should have better resolved many many years ago).

If you're looking to automate this CloudExtend has an app that lets you see and run your saved searches directly in Excel (and optionally add them to a schedule). Avoid the whole csv / xls export process to begin with.
