In reality, this area has perfect weather from around June through Sept. Everything is green because of the rain from winter, yet it is relatively dry. Also note that it seldom rains heavily here - it rains often during the winter but it's a light rain. If you look at total rainfall I think cities like NY get a lot more, believe it or not.
