We are creating a new user and we don't want the user to have access to the tab Setup. How can I do it ?
s
There isn't a defined list of permissions controlling these that I'm aware of. This would by-in-large be controlled by restricting permissions in the "Setup" sublist on the role definition. You could review permissions in the official .xlsx doc and search "Setup" to find permissions related to Setup https://system.netsuite.com/core/media/media.nl?id=413904148&c=NLCORP&h=gjpvWJyWhOta7fZDc3hHvFADygeCw_iCzgSMxqWp6mR8GY8d&_xt=.xls
s
Yes I looked to another role and they don't show Setup. I guess there's a way to do it
thanks

The other role you mentioned may be using a center other than "Classic" center
s
Good point but, unfortunately it's same center type "Classic Center"
s
Oh - if you have another role without access to Setup tab, you can do a role comparison
s
just did it, roles are identical. I'm wondering what else it could be The previous administrator is gone and I can't reach him 😞
I've been talking with support for more than a day now, and they have NO clue how to do it ....
Latest message from Netsuite support
Upon further checking, the feature of hiding or removing Customization tab for Custom Roles is currently not available within the NetSuite
We have roles that turn off the menu Customization. I cannot see how the previous administrator did it
l
Are they assigned to custom centers? I think you can create custom tabs with custom centers.
s
@Simon, when you did a role comparison, you're saying all the permissions were exactly identical? Did you use the NetSuite Compare Roles tool?
s
I did not. I did it manually. I will try the suite compare.
s
Yeah, Compare Roles is the perfect tool for this situation. If the users have the same center type ("Classic Center"), then the only way I know of that the tab would not show up is if all the permissions to the feature in that tab were removed.
s
I'll try it in few minutes. Thanks
