I thought this would be simple, but I’m a bit stumped. We use average cost and was asked how to get a saved search, report, or BOM inquiry to see what the current cost would be for an assembly with costs for each component line. Is there anything in Netsuite that does this? I can’t seem to find an answer and the request would seem reasonable.
m
If you have advanced BOMs enabled this is quite difficult but can be done in a dataset/SA workbook
Also sometimes it’s easier to just make a dummy work order then use a transaction search to get all the costs
m
There is a report called "costed bill of material" that is what you are looking for.. but, it only works if you use "standard cost" as costing method. So you must invent the wheel unless you find someone else who invented the wheel so to speak
m
@mesper We are using average cost and costed BOM doesn’t work.
@MGBC Yeah. We do use advanced BOM which makes it more difficult. I’ll try in a dataset. What’s difficult is they sometimes created BOMs with a different UOM than the component’s primary stock UOM.
m
How many levels of subassembly are your BOM?
m
Only some of them have sub-assemblies. most are just one level
m
It should work. I think I ran into an issue after 5-6 levels of subassembly so just 1-2 should be doable in a SA dataset

👍 You da best maven!
