👋 Hi All, I'm new to the forum and NetSuite. We have two subsidiaries in our Company (US and Canada) and we have only one sales team. The challenge for us is some opportunities have been created in the wrong subsidiary. Is there a way to move opportunities between subsidiaries?

CSV export and import back in, close off the old one. Subs on transactions once saved cant be changed. (to my knowledge)
s
Thank you, Would the same be true of customers? They would need to be reimported into the correct sub?
n
Customers you can turn on multi sub (if its not on already) and then just add the subs they need to be added to. So technically no unless you want separate records per sub for some reason.

I just found the 'merge' function for duplicate customers and was able to test in Sandbox creating a new client under the correct sub and then merging records. Despite the warnings on the screen it worked pretty well and I can't see any difference in the records. Any pitfalls I should be aware of with this approach? (We do want to keep the customers with the correct sub for the country where they are located, we do have most customers with both subs attached)

Hi SA - sorry i didnt realise you had them set up in more than 1 sub, I have never had any issues with the merge function, but i usually just do a small batch at a time and export copies of the data before i Merge

Good point about the data export. I'll do that. Thanks for your help!

No worries. I am caution with anything that impacts data and i figure better to be safe than sorry, especially if both have transactions, if the duplicate doesn't really have any transactions, i don't worry too much!
