We want to upgrade our SCA version from 2021.2 to the latest available version. Is it a straight forward upgrade, meaning that after the upgrade nothing on the current website would break? Has anyone had the chance to do this kind of upgrade? Please share any related experiences

I have done this before, multiple times.. If it breaks or not, only depends on the extensions that you have

May I ask what type of extensions would break it?

And by type of extensions I mean any pattern or functionality that you noticed would break it more easily

It’s hard to say man, I strongly suggest you to install the new SCA in sandbox first and test

Set up another site in sandbox. Load the new version. If you have mods in the core code, they should be converted to extensions. Activate your theme and extensions. Fix the broken things. Repeat.
