does anybody know how to detect if a Journal Entry (under routing approval) has been approved? The approve event is not triggered with a UE nor with a Workflow so the only way I have is to add a custom field in the JE and run a MR to check for status changes. But I cannot believe there is no other easier way to check if the journal has been approved. Any suggestion?

there is what we call an 'approve' event type in workflows and user event scripts, however upon checking the docs, it's only available for certain record types and JE is not one of them.. thus you're in the right path, unless you decide to implement a custom routing approval..
