How would I access a payment event value from the billing tab of sales order? I am developing a user event script for aftersubmit which checks the result in the payment event

Payment Events are their own type of record that will have your Sales Order as a parent. The easiest way to access values would be to run a saved search for Payment Events, where "transaction" is your Sales Order.
