@Brian Brown The button sits on the Sales Order, when it is clicked, the email is sent and associated with the transaction, so that it appears in the communications tab. That email being sent essentially creates a message record. Alternatively, if I manually click "Email" on the communications tab and send them email, it creates that message record. When doing it manually, the user event trigger works just fine.
