Hi im new to this. My goal is to have the sales rep field auto populate with the current user when a new quote is created. Is this a User Event Script or Client Script? With my limited knowledge so far, i could argue that it could be either script type.

I would argue that typically the User Event script is the better option most times but it depends on what the need is. Yours sounds well suited to a before submit in a User Event script but there are other factors to consider. I'd refer you to read NetSuite support's documentation on what each does and their caveats.

Could you do this with a workflow? Might be easier if you have limited scripting knowledge
