Hello, is it possible to create a suitelet on the home dashboard that displays the results of a saved search where the user can select the transactions they would need to take action on? If so does anyone have a sample script that does this?

Yes possible, but I will suggest create portlet script and display

You need a portlet with an iframe to embed your suitelet (in case you have filters or the portlet itself does not fit for your requirement)
