I'm thinking of going pure N/query in my next project. No N/search. Possible?
s
I find myself rapidly moving towards SuiteQL for new projects.
but I avoid N/query like the complex plague that it is
b
not really sure what the issue is. Try only N/query, if you fail, then fall back to N/search
its not like they are exclusive or anything
s
true that
z
No it is not possible. Some data (fields, values...) are available only through "object" model (record API), but not exposed via "database tables".... Especially if you are using International Tax Report like most EU users
t
@ExtendApps Inc. I think it's not only possible, but that you might find that the development goes much more quickly as well.
How familiar are you with SQL?
z
Additionally, SQL query executing is much faster than saved search, getting multilevel joined data is only possible with SQL. I wouldn't be exclusive. Both search and query have their advantages
And I forgot to mention : @ExtendApps Inc. don't miss @tdietrich SQL suitelet for interactive writing queries... 😎

Love the feedback, thanks everyone!
s
worth noting that n/query supports multilevel joins, not just SuiteQL.
