Question for VSCode users: What do you use for uploading SuiteScripts to NetSuite? I'm trying to install the NetSuiteSDF extension right now and having trouble with the instructions so I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with this or other methods.
b
Find @chris
He is behind that extension

hello

Hi Chris!

I'm trying to set up your NetSuiteSDF extension for VSCode and I'm stuck on the first instruction. How do I find
tjtyrrell's brew or chocolatey
?
I'm familiar with NPM but never used brew or chocolatey before.
c
Do you have a Mac or a PC?
k
Windows PC
c
ah yeah I donโ€™t really support Windows. But chocolately is just a package manager for Windows

@TJ Tyrrell wrote the package script for that. I donโ€™t know if he still maintains it

k
ah ok, thanks
I'm reading the chocolatey installation instructions and it looks like it'll need admin access which I don't have.
c
You just need to install the sdfcli jar file then symlink it so that itโ€™s globally available and the plug-in can find it
yeah :/
k
Switching from independent consulting to working for a global corporation makes this sort of thing a lot harder. >.<
Ok I'll try that, thanks!
It's awesome to see developers actually participating in the community. Keep up the great work! ๐Ÿ˜„
Got chocolatey installing using the non-admin PowerShell instructions. That was relatively painless. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope it is the most recent version of the sdfcli
k
Now to hunt down the package name for @TJ Tyrrell's sdfcli
c
If not you can overwrite it after you install it. Should last a few years
k
k thanks!
First step in @TJ Tyrrellโ€™s instructions is to install the Eclipse SDF plugin. I don't have Eclipse installed. Is this necessary? Any ideas where I can download the SDF jar files from?
this might work
or just search for sdfcli in the search bar
