@PNJ I have had similar problems, and unfortunately couldn't get it fully working. My company has bulk licensing for IntelliJ, and I used it for many years for Java & Groovy development, but I decided to just ask about getting a WebStorm license. JetBrains gave us the same bulk rate for a single WebStorm license, which made the decision easier. It's worth having someone in procurement ask if that is possible.
If you can figure out the structure of a new project, you might be able to create a script to generate a new project that way, though it's obviously less than ideal. One thing I don't like is that WebStorm doesn't quite have the Freemarker support that IntelliJ does, so I use VS Code for that. It would be nice to have a fully supported IntelliJ version some day, however given the popularity of VS Code for JavaScript development, I wouldn't be surprised to see NetSuite invest more in supporting that than in adding IntelliJ support.
