11/20/2019, 7:13 PMWe have actually replicated KPIs within custom portlets. You basically have to build your information using searches and assemble it yourself, though. You can actually call the KPI/graphing APIs directly through SuiteScript, if you know what they are.
No reason to do it most of the time. Just gives you a bit of extra flexibility.
