@Peter sorry I had to run, but the first thing you need to do is get the code working in the browser console. From a quick try

document.getElementById('buttonId').hidden = true

works on the main form buttons but not subtab buttons. Once it's working in the console it should work fine injected in an inlinehtml field with the code you posted.
