2 questions - 1. Can someone help me understand the error code (SS1.0) SSS_FILE_CONTENT_SIZE_EXCEEDED --- my boss wrote this script in like 2013 that loads a record to change a field value on that record, then submits the record. The field is just a checkbox, but the record has tons of other fields on it, including 1 field that holds a file from the file cabinet. We get this error every single day on the script now - is this error from the size of the record being loaded in? or because the file attached to the record is too big? 2. Wouldn't it be more efficient to use nlapiSubmitField instead of loading the whole record to change 1 field value?
c
There's a 10MB file limit.. and 2) Yes, its more efficient

you could maybe get a rough estimate but checking the size but it won't be 100% accurate but you could get a decent idea if its actually over the 10mb
v
@creece just to clarify - is the size limit on the whole record / does the attached file size count toward that limit? Also, by not loading the whole record and instead using nlapiSubmitField would it solve the problem?
c
the size limit is for the files
v
gotcha
c
i've never see a record exceed 10mb
thats one hell of a record if it did
v
we have a new subsidiary that uploads huge pdfs and has started erroring it out so i gues that makes sense
c
submitField would have the same issue but its definitely less governance/more efficient to do so
v
i see 8-) thank you!!!
c
you could do an external link or something as well
like if you store the files elsewhere.. you ARE limited to like 10gigs of space initially so adding pdfs and storing them will eat that away pretty quickly
