With a cumbersome ERP as NetSuite and other systems I had worked with I find very prudent and standard to avoid external libraries, this certainly help to keep your code and potentially critical business processes away from this kind of problems. My NetSuite instance is not in 2019.1 yet but I bet you that if I have to fix 10 lines of codes is to much and consider I have over 200k lines in my NetSuite implementation...
